QUICK Way to Whiten your Teeth.

Awhile back I found this youtube video by Kandee Johnson claiming that 5-Minute Whitening was the Ultimate Drugstore Product. I love it! Now I believe this is the current packaging for this product, but when I bought it a year ago, it looked slightly different. I bought the kit that comes with a mouthguard. However, Kandee says you can buy an athletic mouthguard and it might work better. The key to this product is that the consistency of the bleach is a little heavier which is why it takes less time to whiten. I leave mine on for around 10 minutes, just because I like to see results faster :/ (I'm impatient, what can I say!) Apparently the brand says that it's non-abrasive, so it doesn't harm the enamel on your teeth. So far, I haven't experienced any sensitivity problems like
I would with bleaching strips and I use it twice a day. But see for yourself! I like it.

At Home Facial Scrub!

To start off this blog post I wanted to answer a comment question! Yes, Betsy, I have tried Kiss Me Mascara! I got a sample of it from Sephora about 2 years ago. I'm REALLY big on reading reviews before I buy the mascara, I like to shop around. I enjoyed the look of it, it added volume and length, which I'm always looking for! The only issue I had was when I took it off. But most women who reviewed the mascara gave it a 4 out of 5 stars and said it thickened their lashes! Seems like a pretty good one to me :)

I just wanted to re-post a video about how to get the perfect at home facial scrub. All you need is sugar, cotton pads, and a lemon/lemon juice. Watch here for the video on how to naturally exfoliate. She uses her hands, but I like to pour it on a cotton pad so it's not so messy! But a little heads up, make sure you do it on a clean face. The acid in the lemon can irritate other products you could be wearing. Also, only use it maybe 2x a month, over exfoliating your skin can be very harmful-but just use it on occasion to get the dead skin off. Try it out and see what you think.

Emily & Hannah

Hello to my fabulous couple readers! (ha.)

My blog today is going to address two different types of make-up users, which is why I've titled this after my sister & I.
The 1st thing you have to know about me is that I'm a TRUE make-up lover.
I will buy any brand as long as it works and it has good reviews. I love wearing lots of make-up,
in every color, in every consistency! I don't have any qualms about putting on a full face of make-up to run errands, because sometimes make-up is the most exciting part of my day. Some people consider that slightly pathetic but for those of you who can relate, follow me, Emily. This is something more along the lines of what I'm inspired by-

Some of you believe that less is more! Shopping for make-up is something you do a few times a year; when you run out of it and you absolutely have to get more, you'll take a quick trip to the nearest make-up store. You're not really comfortable in a full face of make-up and you might wear foundation every so often. You wear the essentials-a little concealer, powder, some bronzer and mascara & you're probably looking for something along the lines of this:
For those of you who know exactly what I'm talking about, follow Hannah.

Both of these looks are going to be a rosy/bronzy look. Something more natural for Hannah and something more glamorous for moi!

Here's how Hannah would do it:
1) After she washes her face with St. Ives Scrub, she moisturizes with a little Jergens Natural Glow.
2) She applies ZERO foundation, none at all- but applies L'OReal True Match Concealer in Warm/Fair in places that she absolutely needs it, undereyes, basically.
3) She then brushes on some Clinique Loose Powder to set it.
4) She then puts on a little Warmth from Bare Escentuals around her face. She has naturally rosy cheeks, so she doesn't usually apply any blush...can't say the same for myself..
5) SOMETIMES she applies eyeshadow (we're complete opposites in case you can't tell) but usually always puts on some form of liquid liner on the top, just for a natural cat eye.
6) And lastly she'll top it off with Some Say Yes to Carrots lipbalm, maybbbbbeee a lipstain, because it stays on longer and a coat of FullNSoft Mascara by Maybelline.

This is NOT similiar to my routine....she has naturally beautiful skin, she drinks a ton of water, and is now a full vegetarian. She's also addicted to Yoga and sometime's doesn't even wear make-up. Her ONE vice is that she sunbathes -we're currently at the beach right now and I don't hit the sand til around 6pm) So she's got a nice bronze glow already. If I could wear less make-up [&didn't enjoy the application so much]and look like this, I probably would, but some of us aren't as lucky.

Here's how I do it:
1) I wash my face with Cetaphil Daily Cleanser and moisturize with Olay Sculpting Scream, I usally put on a primer of some sort and lately I've been using Dr. Brandt Pores No More from Sephora.
2) I ALWAYS "stipple" my foundation on with a stippling brush, specifically this exact brush from Sonia Kashuk. To learn how to stipple, watch this video. Currently I'm using a combo between Chanel Mattelumiere and Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer.
3) I then apply my face concealer just over a few acne scars and around my nose. I apply a lighter shade of concealer underneath my eyes (MAC Studio Finish Concealer) and blot Mac loose powder all over my face with a makeup puff to set it.
4) I NEVER TAN EVER. Not by a pool, beach, or bed. I use lots of sunless tanner- & I use warmth, by bare escentuals to add a little color to my face. Then I contour my cheeks with a Smashbox Matte Bronzer that I got in their flawless face kit. Make sure it doesn't have a lot of sparkle to it because the end result could be slightly "dirt"y looking.
5) I always vary which blush I use, depending on what mood I'm in, but today I stuck with my Nars-Orgasm. I think Hannah would appreciate how natural looking it is even despite the fact that she doesn't wear it! It's a nice alternative if you want less pigment than most blushes.
6) I stick with a matte brown eyeshadow like Cork in my crease, but I like to swipe on Mac Bronze or Amber Lights to add a nice touch a little below it. I always wear black eyeliner in my waterline if I wear eyeshadow! But my secret to making it look more sultry is also wearing a brown eyeliner right below your lashes and blending downwards.
7) I wear whatever mascara I've got in my bag and coat them MANY times.
8) I finish with a lipliner and gloss, also varies, but I specialize in cheap liners. I go through them a lot and like to be messy with them anyways. Nyc has good ones as well as rimmel. I've repurchased both. Today I chose one of my Tarte Mini's I got for christmas. LOVE THEM.

Alright so you've seen both ways to do a nice summer look. Choose what you're most comfortable and go for it! Let me know if you have any questions ladies :)

It's been FOREVER!

To my blog- I've missed you!
To my bloggers- I'm so sorry I haven't written in forever.

Lately, I've been working on my "card company."
I'm trying and attempting to sell them on Etsy!
So I'm making lots and lots of cards for you to see :) Also, I've been thinking lately, I might become a Youtube make-up -vlogger-(video blogger, hah) Let me know what you think!

To Betsy, my most appreciative fan! I'm almost out of my Clarins Self Tanner, I'm so sad!
I've been doubling with two mascaras lately- but I'm fixing to make the switch back to Clinique High Impact! My FAVORITE mascara ever, of all-time is DiorShow Iconic, I've only had it once but it was wonderful. I found $20 on the ground one day and spent it wisely..;) But I live off the notion that you NEED a flawless face, anything else can be bought at the drugstore: Mascara, Eyeliner, Lipliner, etc.

I recently splurged on Chanel MatteLumiere Foundation! BEST FOUNDATION EVER- but it's a little heavy for summer, so I've been diluting it with Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer, works wonders.

Anyways, again, I apologize for the 4 month-ish delay!! If you have anymore questions, let me know! I will be posting as much as I can as often as possible! But keep on the lookout for some youtube videos..

Exotic Look!

Okay, it's been like a month since my last blog. I'm ready for a fresh start after Disney World and midterms! Anywho, my favorite look lately is that kind of tropical looking, I just came back from the beach make-up. I tried to use as few tools for a more natural looking face.

1) First and foremost, I had put a few layers of Clarins Sunless tanner on...THEN, I took it a step further with Benefit's Talk to the Tan. It's kind of like a slightly heavier tinted moisturizer. It's only job is to deliver color, so it doesn't do anything about coverage.
2) I squirted 2 pumps of MakeUp Forever's HD Foundation and covered my blemishes/dark circles with Makeup Forevers Concealer Palette in #1 and YSL's Touche Eclat. I set that with Bare Minerals MineralVeil.

3) I went slightly heavy on the bronzer (Bare Minerals Warmth)
and used Benefit's Blush in Dallas.

4) Here's where you can get as creative as you want. I took the tip of my middle finger, dabbed it in my bronzer
and rubbed it evenly over my eyelids. I made sure to get the creases, because if you notice, usually when you get sun
the color is always slightly darker on your eyelids. Then I used my pinky finger to distribute bronzer
below my eyelids. I applied mascara, black liner in the creases, and bronze liner below the lower lashes.
I made sure to blend it it so it gives you those exotic looking eyes.

5) End with lipliner, DON"T FORGET to blend it in, and some berry colored lipgloss. It's the best
beach/summer make-up that can easily be worn in the winter.

Try it out and let me know!

Disney Princess!

I'm headed to Disney World in t-minus 3 days!! So I've decided to blog about a disney princess inspired make-up look. When I was a small, lovely, obedient child- I always loved Jasmine. She was so exotic and bronzed that I demanded to be her for Halloween. So I've created, what I think, is a beautifully, inspired look.
1) Same usual face steps! BUT SUNLESS TANNER CENTRAL. You should be prepped with nice, "tan" skin. Remember if you're tanner than normal, you should change your face make-up. Everyone should own at least 2 shades: their summer colors as well as their winter colors!
2) So use the appropriate foundation, concealer, & powder to create an even skin tone.
3) Okay begin with a matte, brown eyeshadow all over the lid (CORK by Mac)
4) I think it would be super pretty to use a turquoise eyeshadow in the crease, (Aquadisiac by Mac)
5) And maybe a pretty gold in the inner crease (Woodwinked by Mac)
6) She definitely has winged liner, so use some sort of liquid liner and slowly drag it out upward on each eye. Curl the lashes and add LOTS of mascara.
7) Go slightly heavy on the bronzer..and use a peachy blush, like Papa Don't Peach by Two Face!
8) End with lipliner and a neutral, shimmery peach, I always use Amber by Bare Escentuals Buxom.

If you need solid step-by-step directions, you can watch this video! Don't forget gold earrings!

5 Minute Face!

Okay, it's been TOO long since I've blogged, BUT it's midterms :( So in light of that fact, I've decided to do a 5 minute face, mainly because I woke up 15 minutes before class yesterday morning.
1) Moisturize! If I don't quite have time to wash my face, I throw on a quick SPF to prime the face.
2) Skip the foundation & opt for a tinted moisturizer.
3) Conceal any imperfections, I usually take lots of time doing this, but if your under a time crunch, only conceal what you have to!
4) Powder, yesterday I used Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil.
5) Bronzer is a must! I skip the blush but you need some sort of color.
6) Chapstick & Mascara & you're ready to roll!
